“It may seem odd that straight exposure to pollen often triggers allergies but that exposure to pollen in the honey usually has the opposite effect. -~Thomas Leo Ogren, “Allergy-Free Gardening”
Flowers are opening, trees are budding, and pollen is about to flood the air and do this to your car:
I had a white Hyundai for a few years and I saw that thing turn YELLOW in the Spring. It was gross.
The pollen count in the Northeast has been very high these last few years, and I have historically reacted very badly to this with extreme Spring allergies. One year is was so bad I developed Bronchitis and was given an inhaler!
I’ve incorporated Bee Pollen into my daily vitamin and supplement regimen over the last few years, and it has done WONDERS in helping me deal with allergy season. If you’re a performer, like myself, you especially know how annoying and debilitating allergies can be in terms of how they affect your voice during the May-July months when there’s a lot of shows going up!
SO HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
–Go to your local farmer’s market or Whole Foods (if they’re getting they’re supplies from local farmers) and pick up a jar of Bee Pollen. They’ll look like little granules.
For extra, delicious bonus points, get some local honey! It will contain Bee Pollen! It is very important that you obtain LOCAL products. They will contain the pollen you will be exposed to all season. Buying products from the opposite coast or Canada etc will not help you nearly as much!
-Depending on your personal tolerance, start taking a few granules of Bee Pollen everyday, up to about 1 teaspoon per day, which is what I do (you can take more, it’s up to you!)
-If you’re not taking Bee Pollen every single day, make sure you begin taking it in January or February before Spring comes. This gives your body time to adjust this new substance.
-Do this consistently for a few months and you’re essentially inoculating yourself against the effect the pollen has on your immune system. By the time the flowers blossom, your body’s reaction to the pollen will have decreased DRAMATICALLY.
I’ve been doing this for years and it has helped me SO MUCH. I taken Bee Pollen everyday now, and no longer fear the beginning of the warmth months! I may still sneeze now and again, but it’s nothing compared to the violent reactions I once had.
Bee Pollen has also been known to:
-Supply B Vitamins to the body
-Decrease growth of harmful bacteria
-Increase fertility and SO MUCH MORE!
